This ooey-gooey triple chocolate treat takes the cake and is super easy to make! It's
Gracie's Kit Kat Strawberry Basket Cake. It is a grown up's version of our favourite
M&M Cake.
Ingredients (serves 10)
250g butter, chopped
200g dark chocolate, roughly chopped
1/4 cup milk
1 cup caster sugar
3 eggs
1 cup self-raising flour
1/4 cup cocoa powder
2 packets of Coles Brand Kit Kat (we used these as they are the perfect size to place around the cake)
2 punnets of fresh strawberries
Method
Preheat oven to 160°C/140°C fan-forced. Grease a 20cm round cake pan. Line with baking paper.
Place butter, dark chocolate and milk in a microwave safe bowl and melt on high for 2 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes.
Whisk sugar and eggs into chocolate mixture. Sift flour and cocoa over mixture. Whisk to combine. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centre has moist crumbs clinging. Cool completely in pan.
Ice with Betty Crocker's chocolate frosting on top and sides of cake.
Arrange Kit Kats next to one another around cake touching one another. Top with strawberries.
